Storing bras involves more than tossing them into the top dresser drawer. As we all know, folding it at the center destroys the underwire and shape of the bra. However, following the right procedure takes up a lot of space. That’s why we recommend using the following bra storage hacks.

Bra Storage Hacks

Divide all your bras into two categories for easy and proper storage. Put the soft and molded cup bras separately. You can fold the first category, but the latter needs special treatment. You can tell the difference by checking if the bra maintains its original shape after taking it off. It’s a molded cup bra if it does.

Molded cup bras are seamless with padding to support and contour the breasts. Soft cup bras, on the other hand, are made with a flimsier and thinner material. It can be unlined or lined.

The difference in bras and factors are what to consider for proper storage and packing. To some, this can be a hassle and quite challenging. No cause for alarm as several tricks help save on space when it comes to bra storage.

Here are some bra storage hacks:

#1.  Line Up the Bras in a Drawer

Storing molded cup bras is easier in a way since they have the same structure and shape. You only need to line them together with the bra cups leaning towards each other. It might take up more space, but you can fit them in one drawer if you are not a bra hoarder or have multiple bras.

One advantage of lining up the bras in a drawer is that it tends to preserve their shape since you don’t get to fold them.

#2.  Look for Drawer Dividers That Can Be Customized

Customizable Drawer Dividers are typically long panels of plastic strips that you can cut anywhere depending on the drawer’s length. You can attach them perpendicularly to each other to customize the shapes and sizes of the divisions.

If you want to maximize the drawer’s space, this allows you to restrict the bras in a rectangular space and still leave enough room for your lingerie pieces.

#3.  Use a Shoe Box as a Draw Organizer

You can start with what you already have if you don’t want to spend a lot of money to draw organizers. Put some shoe boxes in the drawer to divide up space. It’s also perfect since they already have enough room and shape to accommodate a few bras.

If you want something more stylish than a shoebox, stationary storage boxes would be ideal. Some even come with in-built dividers to separate the bras. Try being creative if you have enough time. You can even try painting the shoe boxes. Use colors that match the closet’s aesthetic to make the bra storage more colorful and fun.

#4.  Hang the Bras on Hangers

This method doesn’t need you to put a bulky box in the already cramped up closet or use up the drawer space. Besides, you can use the closet door if the cabinet is too crowded or a bare wall anywhere in the house or the back of the bedroom door. All these spaces serve as alternative places to put the hangers.

Take a hanger and slip a cup through the center and let the bra hang from the bottom. Also, you can hang several bras on one hanger, which helps save space.

#5.  Use Shower Rings

Placing shower rings on hangers allows you to hang several bras right after washing them in the shower. It’s similar to using the hangers; the only difference is shower rings save more space.

Clasp the bras to each ring after attaching the shower rings to the hanger. The method also makes rearranging the rings to a different order on the hanger relatively easy.

#6.  Installing Mini Rods in the Closet

You can find mini rods in furniture stores or kitchen and bathroom sections. Attach one on the closet door and hang your underwire bras instead of kitchen utensils and small towels.

Employ the same technique as in the drawers and hangers. Hang the bra at the center with the bottom facing down and line them up, cupping each other.

#7.  Create a Display Using a Hanger

You will need a little effort for this method, but the result is an exquisite display. Wooden hangers are ideal in this case, especially the ones with rotating top hooks. The idea here is to hang each of the hangers vertically, Barrel of Monkeys style.

You can screw in another hook on the wood for the next hanger, then hang the one at the top on the closet door, rack, or wall. Hang your bras as you would a t-shirt.

#8.  Use the Coat Hanger

Most people have them at the back of their doors, where they place keys, scarves, coats, and other essentials. Coat hangers feature several hooks placed close to each other.

Put your padded bras straps on the hanger, then hang the rest on the next hooks. Ensure you fasten the clasps so that the bra doesn’t hang loosely and to avoid stretching the elastic. It can also cause the bra straps to slip off the shoulders when worn.

#9.  Hang from Jewelry Organizers

Jewelry organizers work like coat hangers. However, most are made with intricately-patterned hooks and wires. You don’t have to re-purpose them for the bras. If you already own one, try adding lacey bralettes or sultry-looking bras for a more customized look.

#10.  Hang the Bras on Tie and Belt Organizers

Tie and belt organizers are typically parallel hooks a bit longer than those on jewelry ones. The designs are minimal since they are usually meant for men. You can hang the bra from the straps or at the middle of the band when it’s clasped since the hooks are longer.

#11.   Keeping in Pockets of Your Shoe Organizer

Storage organizers are multifunctional, especially if you think outside the box and disregard labels. They are usually made of incredibly soft materials, and you can hang on the closet door or rack. To maximize the pocket space’s length, put the bras on the open, sidelining them up sideways.

#12. Use a Clothes Rack for Your Bras

If you don’t have an issue with space, put the bras on a hanger, and dedicate an entire rack for them. Hanging the bras as you would your t-shirts lowers the risk of damaging the cups’ molding and shape.

This method is more decorative but is also a proper way of storing your bras.

#13.   Use Clothespins to Hang the Bras on a String

This method is quite rare, but it works perfectly well. Ensure you clip the clothespins on the straps or at the center of the band for strapless bras.
